Snow Day equals Project Day.
It took a day off from work to get my printer drawer project done. I have had this drawer since Christmas. Present from the Dad, he did well this year.
I knew I wanted to put something behind the slats, but could never really think of what to put there. It finally hit me today, random printed material I have lying around. I have had these two pieces of sheet music for years and never could find a way to use them… until today. That goes for the rest of the items I used. Stuff I have had for awhile but did not have a use yet. I always knew there would be some use for these items when I bought them.
To start, I cleaned the dust off the slats of my drawer. This was the hardest thing to do. So many little corners and areas.

To remove the back panel, there were only a few nails to take out. A previous owner had done the hard work and removed most of the nails. Then I rounded up the different items that were to be used.

Song sheet placement
Arranging the song sheets, postcards, pictures, fabric, old ads, sewing pattern was a test in trial and error. At times I would lay on the floor and look at the arrangement to see things were looking like I wanted. Took a few times switching things around.

Everything laid out
Once everything was in place, I reattached the back to hold it all in place. I did not use any tape or glue to keep things in place. The pressure from the back against the slats was enough to keep things from shifting.

I am extremely happy with how this turned out. Now it will be fun to keep adding little finds to the ‘shelves’ the drawer slats make. I happened to have some old wood letterpress type to add.
Hope this inspires to complete a project on the to do list.
